Taos Ballooning - High Adventure in Taos New Mexico

"The only company in Taos with a perfect safety record!"

What should I wear and bring?
In Spring and Summer, dress in layers for a cool morning and gradual warming by touchdown. Sunscreen is a good idea as well. Please wear closed toes shoes for desert terrain. In the Fall and Winter, be sure to bring gloves, a hat and warm layered clothing.

Cameras? Video?
By all means! Bring your still camera and video camera. If you wish, we would love to post your photographs and video on our website.

Cancellation Policy
Although our ballooning weather conditions are consistently favorable, the chance of inclement weather does happen from time to time. There is no charge for any flight cancelled, and Paradise Balloons will make every effort to reschedule your flight.

How fast does the balloon travel?
Although speed is determined by the wind, the average speed is 5mph.
The speed of walking is 4mph.

Could l I feel a sense of fear because of the height?
Ballooning does not create the same sense of panic that standing on a cliff and looking down does. The ride is slow with very little movement.

How high do you fly?
We fly between 1,000 – 2,000 feet. At this altitude you can hear and see the sights and sounds of desert life. During the Rio Grande “Splash and Dash”, we will take you right down to the surface of the water and float back up on the gentle thermal winds past the canyons walls.

Is ballooning safe?
Hot air ballooning is one of the safest forms of flight known to man. Our balloons and hand-crafted wicker baskets are made of the highest quality and are inspected regularly. Our pilots have thousands of hours of flying experience and each is certified with a Federal Aviation Administration Pilots license.

Do you fly during all seasons?
Yes, we fly Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Ballooning in Winter months can add excitement and diversity to your skiing holiday.

Can you accommodate different sized groups?
We have several hand-crafted baskets of different sizes available to fit your groups needs.
